I have barely been here myself lately
but it's years since my blog, you've seen.
I only have one question...
Where the bloody hell have you been...

Sunrise Over a Dark Sea

The Morning Sky:

I set out for my morning walk before the sun gets up in the morning. That way I am always treated to the many different moods of the sky as she enrobes each day. This morning was quite overcast with rain-laden clouds, but ooh, what a performance was the awakening of the sun. I am so blessed to be living in Australia. Every day wears a new gown where-ever you are.

My journey is going well…I think…still no weigh-ins. Harris Scarfes have scales on sale from 6 a.m. onwards I only hope there are some left at 9 a.m when Mail Orders begin.

Back to my journey. I am feeling better physically in my body, my step seems lighter, stride wider and my joints may be a tad looser. Whilst in detox during the past week there was only one morning when I couldn’t get myself out of bed for my walk and when I was able to surface, I kept wanting to go walking then, but couldn’t due to all of the holiday-makers arriving in town for Easter. I did fleetingly think about driving out to a more distant beach but that would have been terribly irresponsible of me, to get behind the wheel when I’m not on top of things. I found it really interesting that I ‘craved’ all day for my walk. A step in the right direction. Got on the elliptical walker for many short periods throughout the day to compensate.

On my morning walks, I zig zag through the town which provides uphill, level and downhill giving great workouts for my legs and joints.
If I have my camera with me I step it out for the first half hour then take any pics which may arise then after sunrise, I step it out for another half to three quarters of an hour which is mostly uphill as I'm heading home.
If I don't have the camera and when my WB is with me, we zig zag through the town til WB has had enough then I usually zig zag a bit longer before heading back uphill to home. All in all, I am satisfied that my walks are helping. Following are some photos of this a.m's walk.

Oh Toy what amazing photos! They are just beautiful! I live out of Brisbane in a rural area, and my walks are so quiet and peaceful, but nothing on the beauty of yours. I would be inspired to walk too!

I am glad your journey is progressing well, and that you have a bounce in your step... hope you manage to get some scales, and you can get all excited about those losses each week.

Take care
Dee

Glad you like the photos. I am always in awe of what Oz serves up, be it scenery, the sky, old buildngs/machinery, flora or fauna, oh, simply everything. It's all a joy to be made a gift of it.

I am often saying to the master that we are blessed in where we live. The whole peninsula is so picturesque. I've taken thousands of photos during the five and a half years we've been here and if you really knew me, you'd know that's a conservative estimate.

Although we are South Aussies, born and bred, we spent the prior 13 years living in Cairns, (another place with breath-taking scenery etc), so we've moved from the top of Oz to almost the bottom, one paradise to another.

I'm pleased with my walking, I'm really enjoying it. Though, now it's Easter and the town is chockers with holiday-makers I'll have to lie low til they've gone again. Don't want to miss out on my walks but I won't have any choice as most of the people are here to fish and the 4wds and boats are here in force along with the jetty fishers with their sun-blocks etc on. I'll have to see what the day brings.Avoid, avoid, avoid has to be my mantra for the whole Easter weekend.

I'd love walking in your area too,I could imagine the birdlife. I love rural as much as the ocean and mountains,(Cairns). We have ocean on 3 sides of us and rural on the 4th so we have the best of both worlds...toy

Don't you worry Vegie, before my 'condition' descended upon me I also was definately not a morning person...in fact the ol' muzzle was the first 'garment' donned in the mornings...simply wasn't safe around me lol.
